Carry-All Bag Pattern Testing – So Sew Easy PDF pattern

  • Serger Pepper - Pattern Testing - Carry All Bag

One more pattern testing for Deby and this time she made a great bag!

I have to admit that I’d never sewn a bag like this… it was my first time! But, with her instructions (and YouTube videos), it went together in a breeze!

First of all: here’s the PDF pattern sold on Craftsy

Then, let’s take a look to the features:

As you can see, it’s a big (but not too much) bag, perfect for a day-trip or for going to the gym.

Deby added pockets on the outside, one is with zipper, others are opened. Straps include squared metal rings – I refashioned some from an old bag: they add a nice handmade touch!

This bag is perfect for denim and I went with some colorblocking, matching some fabric I had in hands, remnants from a MeiTei I’ve sewn a long time ago…

And take a look to the inside: plenty of pockets here too! I’ve made a colorblock there too, refashioning green bed sheets I’ve bought and never used, paired with an old curtain (that ended with an eyelet border that I’ve ripped out and put in my remnant stash).

As you see, I still have to close the gap between the lining and the outside, near to the main zipper… I had to wait hubby for cutting a plastic bottom for my bag…

One more nice touch are those little metal bag feet, that will help my Carry-All Bag saving her bottom!

The only thing I regret is that I have no access to fusible fleece: I had to use a non-woven thick interfacing that left a cardboard sensation… it sounds like if it was made of cardboard, if you know what I mean! In a previous bag I’ve sewn, I used regular fleece between the outer and the lining, but, due to the multiple layers on this one, I wouldn’t have been able stitching it, if I had one more layer!

It’s a long sewing task, but it’s worthy this extra work, needed for cutting, interfacing and assembling…

      Grazie cara 🙂
Dovevi vedere quanti pezzi c’erano da assemblare in questa… E’ davvero grossa, più una valigia che una borsa, tanto che mia figlia ha detto che la vuole come valigia per andare al mare, quest’anno! E’ già avanti, lei!
